“DIGITAL- PHOTOGRAM”
︎︎
2017 ~ Present
Past, “Now” and Future
︎Darkroom printing with digital devices
What is a ‘digital-photogram’? Why do I make digital-photograms?
Photography has its past, it's ‘now’ and its future. The past of photography is film, analogue and darkroom printing. The 'now' is digital Photography and perhaps AI. I am asking myself: what will the future of photography look like? To answer this question, I created digital darkroom prints by capturing the light data from London using digital devices and printing this data onto photographic paper. The printing process does not involve a camera directly. The resulting photo degrades the clear figurative of the daily image into an abstract figure. I did this through a process I call 'digital photogram' and, to me, this is the future of photography. A new photographic language has the possibility to merge 'a new way of seeing' and “a new way of thinking” together onto a piece of one photographic paper.
In total, I created nearly 500 prints using ‘Digital Photogram’ since 2017.
